If you're preparing for the Whole30 Challenge or you've already started, you've probably got tons of questions and concerns swirling around in your head. Because I want to make sure you have the best, easiest Whole30 experience possible, I've compiled a list of resources below to help you with your journey.

As I'm sure you can understand, I can't offer individual support to everyone participating in the program. However, if you are one of my clients, I will help you every step of the way! If you're not one of my clients, you also have options. You can purchase blocks of time where I can offer any and all support you may need. This includes anything from a 45 minute block of time where we sit down for a Q&A all the way to a 2-3 hour block where I come to your house, go through your kitchen and/or go grocery shopping with you....and everything in between. I am always excited to have the opportunity to do so. If you are interested in purchasing these blocks, you can go here to check out my pricing and even pay by credit card on the site or by check/cash in person.

However, before you do that, I encourage you to check out the resources below, as you may find all the help you need right here!

First, did you know that we have a Facebook Support Group with all local people? You can join our group to gain lots of support as well as get your questions answered by your peers.

Also, we have periodic support meetings. Check our calendar to find out when the next one will be held.

Next, I want to include my own compilation of FAQ's that I've encountered so far:

Is a certain food/ingredient compliant on this program?
This is, by far, the most common question I receive. And it is, by far, the easiest question to which you can find an answer! A simple google search of the item in question, prefaced with "Whole30" will almost always give you more information about that food/ingredient than you ever wanted or needed to know. So, say you want to know if xanthan gum is compliant (it is), you would simply search "Whole30 xanthan gum" and you'll get about 113,000 results!

What exactly is Whole30?
I encourage everyone to read It Starts With Food to truly understand the rules as well as the science behind the rules. However, you don't have to read the book to do the program. You can go here to read a brief summary of the rules and philosophy.

Can I have this one cheat on this one special day? Or, I messed up, should I start over?
NO! You absolutely can not cheat one single time! If you cheat, or even eat a noncompliant food by mistake, you should, ideally, start the 30 days over. Yes, I know this is a tough one and I've literally had to do this before, but there is a very good reason for it! We really do need a minimum of 30 days without these potentially problematic foods to begin to feel the full benefits of the program. Now, that being said, use your judgement. I once took one dose of a liquid cold medicine when I was very sick during the program and realized about a week later (when I was a mere 3 days from finishing the 30 days) that it was technically noncompliant. I chose to keep powering through instead of starting over. Apply common sense to the true spirit of this program and you'll know if you should start over.

I have a stomach ache, headache, etc. Is this normal?
Almost definitely, yes! It is very common, for various reasons, to not feel well the first few days. And, depending on how poor your eating was before you began the program, it may last longer than just a few days. However, this is another area where you must apply common sense. It's one thing to feel "yucky" for a few days, it's another thing to be vomiting or unable to function in some other capacity, you may want to see a doctor, as it may be something more serious. Another possibility to consider is that a food you are eating on the program, that you may not ordinarily eat, may be causing the problem. For instance, I used to gravitate to a much larger amount of raw nuts when doing this program. I eventually realized that so many nuts were wreaking havoc on my digestive system and causing abdominal pain. As always, PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BODY!

I work long hours, how can I make sure I have food prepared?
First, crockpots are your friend! Find easy crockpot recipes that you can toss in before you go to work in the morning. If you work longer than the average workday and you don't have a digital crockpot with a timer, I strongly encourage you to invest in one so that you can set it for how long you want it to cook and then it will stop cooking but keep your food warm until you get home. Here is the one I use. It's a larger one, which I like because I can roast a whole chicken in it too!

Also, make sure you always prepare extra servings of meals and even freeze pre-portioned meal sizes for later use. I love to use these containers for my meals and I will label each one with what the meal is as well as the date I prepared/froze it. I started out using the three compartment containers and you may find they work better for you but I found that it split up my food too much and there were many side items that wouldn't fit in the small parts designated for side items. I also use single compartment containers like these for soup and other single dish containers. While you might not be as OCD as me about this, I find the uniformity of these containers and ease in stacking helps me better organize my meals and assess what I have.

Finally, don't forget that you can get really simple with things! Things like raw veggies, fruits, simple salads and nuts can be great "go to" items as well as the occasional compliant pre-packaged foods like Rx, Bars Epic and Larabars...although they should never be a staple and always check labels to ensure that all ingredients are compliant, as it can vary from flavor to flavor.

And, if you're coming to a class or training session, don't forget that I have Whole30 compliant meals and snacks for sale at my studio!

You still haven't answered my question...
By far, one of the very best places to obtain a ton of information would be from the experts themselves. Check out www.whole30.com for lots more information!
